Information about the SSI Microsoft Office 365 Migration Project
The SSI Microsoft Office 365 Migration Project is focused on transitioning SSI to the Microsoft Office 365 digital platform, over two phases.
Phase One
Move all staff from Google G Suite to the Microsoft Office 365 digital platform, Go Live 28 October 2019. As part of Phase One all Google mailboxes, calendars, contacts, tasks and Google drive files will be migrated to Office 365.
During this transition, we will be moving:

- Over 8.5 Terabytes (8500 Gigabytes) of data
- Over 1,000 Mailboxes
- Over 10 Million email messages
- Over 1,200 Calendars
- Over 13,000 Calendar Shares
Phase Two
In 2020, additional applications to be added to Office 365, for example Microsoft Teams which provides Team Messaging and 1-on-1 Chat.
Moving to Office 365 supports SSI’s Digital Transformation Journey.
Office 365 has Best in class, powerful Collaboration tools and is a great Mobility Platform for all staff.
Our data will be stored in Australia and Data Sovereignty maintained, which is important for compliance as government continues to strengthen laws and regulations.
Microsoft has also infused Artificial Intelligence (AI) features across several of its products and services including Office 365, to extend its capabilities and to improve productivity.
Microsoft Office 365 is a modern workspace providing SSI with a digital platform for both current and future needs.
We are changing to a new email system, moving from Google Gmail to Microsoft Outlook Online (Outlook on the Web).
Google G Suite online applications Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Google Drive will change to new corresponding Microsoft Office 365 online applications, Outlook Online (Email, Calendar, People, Tasks) and OneDrive for Business.

Completing the checklist tasks listed below will help prepare your data for the move to Office 365.
The Cutover Weekend begins Friday afternoon, 25 Oct 2019 at 5:00pm and ends Monday morning, 28 Oct 2019 at 9:00am. During this time the Office 365 Team and IT support will be busy moving your latest Google data to Office 365.
On Friday afternoon, simply sign out of your Google account by the cutoff time on 25 October. Please do not make any changes to your SSI Google account after the cutoff time. Any attempted changes during the Cutover Weekend do not get moved to Office 365. You may notice your incoming email has stopped, this is expected. Any email sent to you during the Cutover Weekend will be stored and sent to your new Office 365 email account after the cutover.
After the Cutover Weekend, you can log into your Office 365 account to access your SSI mail and calendaring. Welcome to Office 365.
